GENERAL PRACTICE PRINCIPLE

lst September 1988
My current post of which I am a partner is a 4-partner practice. We have a list size of 8,600 patients from a suburban semi-rural area. On arrival I inherited the position of Assistant police surgeon for Great Yarmouth, but unfortunately had to give this up due to practice commitments. I have a particular interest in trauma, minor surgery, obstetrics and paediatrics. I have also taken the lead in respect of staffing and practice management issues. In addition to the above I also enjoy medico-legal work. This is usually undertaken in my spare time outside of surgery hours. I currently accept approximately 2-3 referrals per week, which are predominantly claimant originated or taken on a joint instruction loss. The practice is covered by a cooperative in respect of out of hours and I also contribute towards this.

HOBBIES

I spend my spare time with my children and also enjoy joinery, DIY, including more major building work, gardening, cycling, canoeing and flying.
