We are currently in negotiations with a range of new Experts to the Chamber about their potentially joining the group. This will mean a significantly greater range of expertise available to solicitors and litigants, and continue to help the Expert Witness community here in East Anglia. If you are an expert looking for likeminded professionals we would be delighted to hear from you (members@the-chamber-of-experts). If you are looking for an area of expertise that does not currently feature on our published lists, then do not be put off. We already have strong links with a range of other experts whom we can point you towards.

New Ideas For Litigation
The litigation world is always evolving, driven mostly by costs, but also increasing demands for speed and clarity. Nowhere are these demands being felt more than in forensic accounting. As an organization we have reacted, and even led this change. We have developed a range of fixed fee services including Loss of Pension reports and case reviews. The fixed fee Loss of Pension report has been developed to address the issues of uncertainty and the inability to call expert evidence in court for most smaller cases. It gives your client the certainty of cost, and a fast assessment of the loss. It works with a questionnaire that allows us to provide a report in 6 working days. The level of the fee depends on the type of pension, but ranges from £500 - £600. The concept of fixed fees can also extend to our unique case review service. The problem for lawyers in the exciting world of conditional fees is while you can assess the legal strengths and risks of a case it is not always possible to value the claim without expert advice as to the quantum. We can provide a case review service that gives you an outline of the likely special damages, the risks from a quantum viewpoint, and an initial list of questions from a business viewpoint. All of this is intended to allow a realistic view of the likely final cost/return. This is essential whether you are acting for the defense or claimant. Here at the Chamber of Experts we work for both sides. This means that you have all of the difficult questions ready to ask the other side, and know which ones to expect. Not only will this help you assess your success fee level, and allow you to plan your case, but will help you in your dealings with the client. We have also developed a number of business valuation tools. Following on from the success of Tim Vogel’s “Practical Business Valuations” book and CD ROM we are one of the fastest yet still competitively priced valuers with specialist experience in litigation cases. This means that we can provide firm quotes for a valuation, and a fast turn-around. With quotes ranging from £500 to £2,500 it is hard to justify not arranging a valuation. The costs depend on the type and size of business, but can easily be restricted to match what you, and your client, want from the case. |
